Questions

Short answers. If yours isn’t here, ask us once you’re in the beta.

What is Second Verse?

A place to put up unfinished songs and finish them with other people. Others build their own versions; you choose what the song keeps; everyone who made it is credited automatically.

Who owns the songs?

You do. Your ideas and versions stay yours, with your name on them. When an owner uses your version, you’re credited on the song.

Can anyone see my songs?

Only if you make them public. New songs are private: just you and the people you invite. You can switch at any time.

What happens when someone builds on my song?

Their version is added next to yours, linked to what it came from. Nothing in your song changes until you choose “Use this.”

Can I record audio?

Recording arrives during the beta. Today you can write lyrics, chords and notes, build on ideas, comment, suggest edits and choose versions.

Does it cost anything?

No. Second Verse is free for the whole beta.

Is there an app?

It runs in your browser on any phone or computer. On iPhone, add it to your Home Screen to use it like an app and get notifications.

What do you do with my email?

We use it to send your invite and occasional beta news. We don’t sell it or share it. See Privacy for the details. Privacy
